Your Hosts.

Hello, from Jill and Robert Wilson.

We bought Da Haa in March 2022 and  have restored it with care using local builders and lots of hard graft. The house was built somewhere between 1779 and 1800 by the Church of Scotland. It was used as the vicarage and had its own stable so the clergy could ride between Walls and Sandness. This proved difficult due to the terrain and weather so the house was abandoned fairly quickly. It then became a house of multiple occupants and came into the previous owners family around 1900. They were employees of the local Laird. It was empty for around 10 years before we purchased it so it was in a very poor state.

We fell in love with the house when we spotted it on the BBC series 'Shetland' and when it came up for sale we were delighted. As wildlife enthusiasts  and professional wildlife photographers the house is perfect and we are gradually working on the garden to attract birds in. It is in a beautiful quiet location with stunning views.
