Huxter Mills
Sandness
Three horizontal water mills pre dating 1877. Repairs started in 2017. Small car park over looking Papa Stour. Short 10 minute walk over fields to mills. Stunning cliff scenery and a bit further along, fossil fish beds on cliff face
Shetland Museum and Archives
Lerwick
Well worth a visit. Found in the centre of Lerwick with an in house cafe and gift shop. Free parking to the side and also free entry
Staneydale Stone Circle
Staneydale, near Bixter
Enclosed Stone Circle and neolithic farmstead. Small parking bay at roadside. Free entry. Open all year but gets a bit boggy so boots recommended. Look out for Red Grouse in this area.

A delightful stroll through 60 acres of beautiful gardens. Open to the public all year with free entry but please consider putting a donation in the box
RAF Watsness
Watsness
There is actually not much online about RAF Watsness Radar Station but there is a layby on the Watsness Road near a stile that gives you good access. There are still some buildings and foundations. Well worth going up for the view.
